In the Hebrew tradition when a man dies and leaves no children a male relative can marry the mans widow, purchase his possessions and Father children so that the mans name will not be lost from among his brethren. This family member is called the kinsman redeemer, he takes full responsibility for the widow. For most of us this is unfamiliar and we couldn’t imagine marrying the widow of our family member. After a spouse dies many do remarry and live happy lives, but; not with in-laws or other family members.
Over time traditions and societal rules change with each new generation, the old saying” time changes things” is very true; looking back over our lives the evidence is easy to recognize. You might have heard or even said yourself, things were more simple back then; we had more time and life was less complicated. With new generations comes advancements which for the most part if used correctly can help move the world in a direction that benefits everyone. Unfortunately, there are those whose greed and desire to control can use these same advancements to cause hardship and pain to others.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who has heard it said we are the last generation; the instruction book of life has given us insight into the end of time. We are told men will be lovers of themselves, the truth will be called a lie and a lie will be called the truth, there will be wars and rumors of war, natural disasters in strange places, mothers against daughters and fathers against sons and the love of man growing cold. When we think about it these are the times in which we now live, our world is slowly dying from the sin that is rapidly engulfing it; signs of the end are exploding all around us.
The time we have left is so much shorter than we think, soon the sky will open and our kinsman redeemer will appear to claim His bride and take her home to His Fathers house. Only those prepared and waiting for His return will enter into the wedding feast. Jesus is our kinsman redeemer, He is long suffering not wanting any to perish but to come to Him accepting His marriage proposal. His blood was given that all who come to Him could be free of the chains of sin; it is your choice, choose to be REDEEMED.
